Are you looking to spice up your yard this year OR maybe you want to try a new hobby? Now is the time of year when homeowners start their landscaping and gardening plans for the year. If you are a “gardening newbie” then these 4 tips are for you…
Start with Herbs
A garden you will most likely use often is an herb garden. Not only does it look pretty, but it’s edible too! Buy herbs at your local home store or even your local supermarket by the seed or with a sprouted plant and easily get a garden started inside or outside!
Instead of preparing your yard for your new garden, try growing your new plants inside pots or another container. Learn how to care for your new plant easily while it’s growing in a pot. Once it’s flourished and out growing it’s little home, you can then transport it to your yard or just a bigger pot.
If you have never maintained a garden before, try starting something small. You don’t want to take on too much too soon before you learn the ropes and get the hang of it. Purchase 2 or 3 plants to get you started. Once you feel more comfortable then you can add more to your collection. This will also help you figure out which plants you want in your garden!
Google and YouTube will be your best friends as you start on this journey. Search for which plants are best to plant in which season, what certain plants need as far as water and sunlight, etc
